Our standards
These rules apply to every film and every analysis piece we publish.
Primary publications
Central bank releases, government reports, court rulings and official statistics. A news story never stands in for the report it quotes.
News reports, three outlets
At least one regional outlet close to the people affected, all from the last twelve months.
Named voices on record
Analysts and newsmakers, at least one dissenting, quoted accurately and credited.
New findings
We study the leading existing coverage first. Each film must add at least three things none of it has.
Sides taken
We explain a policy and its effects, and give the strongest version of the argument we test.
Human editor
AI tools assist with research and drafting. A named editor checks and approves every piece before it is published.
Quoting other outlets
We read other reporting to find and check stories. We never republish it. When we quote another outlet we keep it short, name the outlet and link to the original.
AI and reconstructions
Our films use faceless reconstructions of composite characters, labelled on screen and disclosed. We never generate the likeness of a real person or present synthetic footage as a real event.
Not investment advice
Our analysis and market data are information, not recommendations to buy or sell anything.
